Mid-Session 24 Apr 18: Local sharemarket extends yesterday’s gains

Almost all sectors are trading higher on Tuesday, helping the ASX 200 rise 0.5% or 26 points to 5,912. The Materials sector is the lone decliner, weighed down by lower metals prices.
