Esther and the Jews

The Book of Esther is marvelously revealing as to the development of Jewish identity and beliefs. It is a secular story with no appeal to the God of Moses nor the Patriarchs. The Jews slaughter their enemies and create a perpetual tradition around this event with no correlation to God’s Covenant.
