OK, so The Daleks started last time, but the Daleks start this time - and they had quite a lot of development, both vocally and physically, to get them to the shapes and sounds we know and love. And yet they arrived pretty much as we have them today. This is the last episode to be recorded before Doctor Who itself was aired and it was made in the immediate aftermath of a world shattering event.
