US Close 4 Apr 17: Weak car sales and caution held US markets back, RBA hear at home.

US sharemarkets cautiously greeted a new month and quarter. Traders and investors are awaiting a meeting between the US and Chinese leaders on Thursday and Friday. US jobs data is released on Friday. There is also caution ahead of the start of earnings season. And investors remain watchful for details of the tax reform package from the Trump administration. The Dow Jones index fell by 13 points or 0.1% after being down 146 points in early trade. The S&P 500 index fell by 0.2% while the Nasdaq lost 17 points or 0.3%.
