AM Report 9 Apr 18: Trade and Job concerns hit US dollar & markets

US sharemarkets fell on Friday. Investors were uncertain about the broader implications of the US-China trade dispute. Investors also debated whether the employment data would change the outlook for US interest rates. At the close of trade, the Dow Jones index was lower by 572 points or 2.3%. The S&P 500 index fell by 2.2% while the Nasdaq lost 161 points or 2.3%. Over the week the Dow lost 0.7%, the S&P 500 fell by 1.4% and the Nasdaq lost 2.1%
