Market Close 16 Nov 16: Energy stocks surge on hopes of production cuts

The energy sector surged 2.3%, buoyed by renewed hopes of production cuts ahead of this month’s OPEC meeting. Materials and Consumer Staples weighed on the market though, with the ASX 200 closing flat at 5,327.
