The Lord called Pastor Joel to plant a church in northwest Calgary, beginning as a Bible study in a home in the fall of 2007. Mountain Springs was a church plant from Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel – www.calvarychapel.ca – in Calgary, Alberta. Prior to the Lord's calling him into the ministry, Joel was a comedian in western Canada . His first ministry position was as a youth pastor in North Carolina, after which he returned to Canada to serve for 4 years on the pastoral staff at Rocky Mountain Calvary ...

Prior to the Lord's calling him into the ministry, Joel was a comedian in western Canada . His first ministry position was as a youth pastor in North Carolina, after which he returned to Canada to serve for 4 years on the pastoral staff at Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel, the first Calvary Chapel in Canada.

In 2017, Pastor Joel felt the call of God to strengthen the churches and do the work of an evangelist through various speaking engagements in Canada, the USA and Europe. He now divides his time between this new ministry and teaching at Mountain Springs.

Joel is married to Tania and they have 4 children: Chloe, Tatum, Roman and Cruz.
