Images of Far North Queensland will soon be broadcast to the likes of the US, Canada, UK, France, Italy, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, Singapore, Germany, Japan and China as part of a $38 million three-year tourism operation injecting a bit of Australia into the field of philosophy. Tourism Australia will today launch a series of global tourism campaigns titled “phil-AUS-ophy” and they are banking on research that shows 70 per cent of high-value travellers believe Australians have a different perspective on life. Prominent Australians Curtis Stone, Mick Fanning, and Terri Irwin among others will have a role. The campaign will portray the Aussie way of life, balanced lifestyle, mateship, storytelling, love of nature, no worries attitude, generosity of spirit, the Australian flavour, sense of adventure and boundless optimism. Federal Tourism Minister Simon Birmingham told Paul Makin that The Reef, Mossman Gorge, Port Douglas, Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation.will take centre stage.
