US Close 12 Oct 16: Dow off 200pts- oil and gold weaker as the USD rises.

US sharemarkets fell on Tuesday. A stronger US dollar weighed on exporters, the materials sector and globally-dependent stocks. Oil prices fell, weighing on the energy sector. And the healthcare sector fell by 2.6%.  Shares in Alcoa slumped by 11.4% after the aluminium giant reported quarterly revenue and profit that missed expectations. After being down 267 points, the Dow Jones index ended lower by 200 points or 1.1% with the S&P 500 index lower by 1.2% while the Nasdaq lost 82 points or 1.5%.
