Once there was this girl whose 

favourite player was captain for many many years

and when they had to sign him

she found that he had left for the red team

She couldn't quite explain it, he'd always just played here

Once there was this boy who

swore one day that he would become captain of the team

and when he finally made it

he saw some other team that was better

And so he asked to leave to the grass that seemed greener

But both girl and boy were glad

For one kid had it worse than that

'Cause then there was this kid whose

parents made him cheer for the Toronto Maple Leafs

and when they watched their team play

they shook and cried all over their rec room

He couldn't quite explain it, they'd always just sucked there
