On this Quick Take from Episode 7 of The Weekend Take, I am joined by Cinematographer, Editor, Animator and Director of Video and Motion Animation for Overit Media, Solomon Nero (www.nero-minded.com).
In the wake of The Academy announcing (and later retracting) their intention to leave four of their 24 categories off of their live broadcast of this year's Academy Awards, being Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Live Action Short, and Best Make-Up and Hairstyling, Solomon and I discuss the short-term and long-term ramifications of The Academy "showing their hand" as they have and how (or if) the can reconcile the matter with their peers and colleagues.
