Seeking validation

To go a little deeper on the title would be to say #seeking your #own #self #worth through the #validation of others!

 

If you are doing this you have lost...this is a game you can not win!

 

John Barrett as usual does a great job in asking me the tough question's to hold my feet to the fire, and also offers up his thoughts on the my situation. He also talk's about where we both feel this #insecurity comes from which dates back to the age of 4 or younger.

 

It truly is something that hit me over the head that all of us since birth crave the attention and love of our parents...especially our mother's! Then followed by the validation or pat on the back from our father's.

 

Something that has come up for me is the 'WHY,' why in this situation when in any other fighting sport I would be looked at like hero Conor McGregor style of fighting larger opponents. I should have just been happy and impressed that I show up everyday to train with those who out weight by 50 plus pounds.

 

Yet I let (for the first few hours anyway) this validation destroy my #mental, #physical, and #emotional #strength. From there my energy, skill set and speed also fell way below what I was capable of (all very interesting side effects by the way)

Until I used every last trick in my bag of tricks from the last 10 years of #sotozen training to undo what my mind had let conjure up! I was down at the first half...but I destroyed it by the second half to come out on top!
