How Glow Ups in Movies Impact Our Self-Perception

Hollywood loves a movie makeover montage, and we’ve all had fantasies of strutting our stuff after an epic glow up (or maybe that’s just the Leo in me)! But how does seeing these cinematic glow ups again and again affect us psychologically?

In this episode, I go through some of the most iconic movie makeovers in beloved classics like She’s All That, Clueless, and Princess Dairies, as well as the more subtle and nuanced transformations in The Devil Wears Prada, Mean Girls, and Legally Blonde. 

But does different always equal better? And does the protagonists’ external transformation lead to an internal glow up, too?
