Month in Review: October 2021

CommSec Market Analyst Steven Daghlian reviews October for the Australian sharemarket. Due to heavy losses at the start and end of the month and modest improvements in between, the ASX 200 eased by just 0.1% in October. Technology, healthcare and financials did best while industrials, energy and consumer staples fell most. Signs of a quicker lift in consumer and business inflation received plenty of attention late in the month while 10-year bond yields rose above 2% for the first time since the pandemic started.
