E89: Going against the Tide as a Clinical Entrepreneur - Dr Ali Bahsoun (CPO MediShout)

In this week’s episode we meet the clinical entrepreneur who went against the grain at a time when everyone was rushing to finish medical school and become consultants. Hear Ali’s amazing story of discovering MedTech as a medical student from urology simulation labs to commercialising products at one point even beating senior registrars at laparoscopic skill competitions. We explore the roles he played during the early days of Touch Surgery (recently acquired by Metronic) from researcher to lead product manager, why he pursued a role in a startup instead of foundation training despite being advised against it. Ali shares his own personal journey and the difficulties he faced trying to forge his own career outside clinical medicine. We gain an insight into his new role as CPO at MediShout.
