The Sinn Fein MEP Lynn Boylan has rejected accusations that she’s a party pooper for supporting strict new EU regulations on balloons.
MEPs today voted on a new law to ban the sale of single-use plastic products like cutlery, cotton bud sticks, straws and other items.
One of the proposals called for labelling to be put on balloon packaging that would warn against releasing balloons into the air.
However the majority of MEPs rejected that move in today’s vote. Lynn Boylan says people need to be aware of how damaging balloons can be.
