Strasbourg attack an “attack on every European” - McGuinness

Last night’s gun attack in Strasbourg has caused a great sadness for the city and the people who make its Christmas market so special at this time of year.

That’s the view of the Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuinness who was in the European Parliament in Strasbourg last night when a gunman attacked visitors attending the city’s famous Christmas stalls.

At least two people are reported to have been killed and twelve injured when the gunman opened fire around eight pm French time.

Mairead McGuinness said the people of Strasbourg will be heavily impacted by last night’s attack.
