US Close 1 Dec: Dow Jones breached 24,000 points for the first time

 

US sharemarkets rebounded on Thursday. The Dow Jones breached 24,000 points for the first time as positive tax reform talks fuelled gains. Key Republican Senator John McCain endorsed the Trump Administration's tax cut plan. Goldman Sachs rose by 2.6% and JPMorgan rose 0.8%, tracking higher US Treasury yields. Kroger was the strongest performer on the S&P500, surging by 6.1% after the supermarket chain forecast upbeat store sales and reported strong earnings results.
