When Older Leaders Won’t Step Aside

Dr. King was once a young leader who made the old guard uncomfortable. Over a decade later, it was King who was being challenged by a new generation of leaders. To his credit, he didn't try to categorically stop them but he also failed to fully appreciate that, just as he felt he was right in ruffling feathers in his day, young leaders like Stokely Carmichael were doing the same in the mid-sixties.
