Celebrate Recovery: Peacemaker

"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy." Matthew 5:7
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." Matthew 5:9

Forgiveness is not forgetting. Forgiveness is not ignoring the hurt caused. Forgiveness is releasing the debt owed because of the offense. This is exactly what God has done for us in Christ Jesus. Step 6 of Celebrate Recovery says, "Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others except when to do so would harm them or others." Scary huh? But I long for mercy, so because of Christ I can give mercy. I long for peace, and so through Christ I make peace. You can do this to through Christ.
