1) Don't embrace sin (Amnon & Absalom)

- Sin ignores the fear of the Lord and love of neighbor

- Sin doesn't keep its promises

- Sin pursues good things in wicked ways

- Sin pursues wicked things dressed up as righteousness

2) Don't be passive with sin (David)

- Address sin before it can grow

- Embrace the reconciliation to God available only in Christ
