Market Close 17 Mar 17: ASX 200 just fails to close above 5,800

The ASX 200 index has gained 13 points or 0.2% to 5,799.6 - just failing to close above the key psychological level of 5,800. Over the week the index rose 0.4% - boosted by strong gains from the miners.
