US Close 10 Dec 15: US markets closed lower hit by tech stocks as miners rose.

US sharemarkets reversed early gains, falling in Wednesday's trade. Shares in Dow Chemical and DuPont both rose 11.9% on reports that both companies were exploring a merger. Shares in Yahoo fell by 1.3% after deciding not to sell its Alibaba stake. And shares in Freeport McMoran rose 3.7% after suspending its dividend. At the close, the Dow Jones index was down by 76 points or 0.4% with the S&P 500 down 0.8% while the Nasdaq fell by 75 points or 1.5%.
