Started in 1986, the Pro Fidelitate et Virtue Award is conferred each year at the Institute on Religious Life’s National Meeting to someone who has been outstanding in the support and promotion of authentic religious life.
Today's episode is honoring our 2016 award recipient, Fr. Seraphim Michalenko, M.I.C. Father Seraphim led the Divine Mercy Department and as such, he gave talks, wrote articles, and supervised the production of various books, pamphlets, and audio-visual materials promoting the Divine Mercy message and devotion. He also helped translate and disseminate Sr. Maria Faustina Kowalska’s Diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul.
Because of his expertise, Father Seraphim was named Vice-Postulator for North America for the Canonization Cause of Sr. Maria Faustina. As such he witnessed the first miracle attributed to her intercession that opened the way for her Beatification in 1993. He also coordinated the investigation of a second miracle that the Vatican accepted, which allowed St. Maria Faustina.
We were so honored to have Fr. Seraphim as our 2016 Pro Fidelitate et Virtute Award recipient. Today, we will be listening to a talk he gave titled “Consecrated and Chosen”.
Thank you and we hope you enjoy!
