Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #294 is an hour of visionary improvisational music and songs by Mariam Massaro and features the Gaea Star Band with Mariam on vocals, native flute, ukulele, kalimba, percussion and celtic harp, Craig Harris on congas and drums and Bob Sherwood on piano. Today we feature special guest Joe Carvallo on electric guitar. Today’s first piece is the gorgeous folk epic “Hold Onto Your Dreams”, a swirling, romantic song pinned to an evocative piano motif from Bob and an inspired vocal from Mariam. “Fanfare” is a lush, mystical waltz built again around the foundation of a mutating piano ostinato and features another fine lyric from Mariam and colorful electric guitar from Joe. Mariam’s visionary “Tall Trees Singing” recounts a mystical experience in the forest and receives a hypnotic rhythm track from the band to support Mariam’s poetry about nature and connecting with the forest. “The Faeries Are Laughing” is a swirling, evocative piece underpinned by powerful native drumming from Craig and Mariam’s metronomic kalimba and “You Hold So Strong” is a taut piece of jazz rock that features fine guitar work from Joe.
