Rite of Election- Homily

Traditionally, on the 1st Sunday of Lent, the diocese celebrates the Rite of Election & Continuing Conversion with the catechumens and candidates who will be received into full communion with the Church at the Easter Vigil. It is an opportunity for the bishop to pray with them and encourage them in the final weeks of their preparation. This year, in the absence of a bishop, I had the honor of celebrating the rite with them.
