At the beginning of a new decade, WCW was very much ushering in a new era as the 'Star of the 1980's', Ric Flair was defending the NWA World Heavyweight Title against the 'Star of the 1990's', Sting. In addition to this main event, WCW's tag team division was electric as Doom faced The Rock n Roll Express in defence of the World Tag Titles, The Midnight Express faced The Southern Boys, and The Steiners went up against The Fabulous Freebirds.
