Our journey through Genesis, aptly tagged the Book of Beginnings by Pastor Adeola, took a further turn today as we considered the matter of God's unflinching faithfulness to His people in times of great fear.
Ezekiel Adetunji preached from Genesis 12:10–20, showing how Abram’s faith was tested by famine and fear. Though God had promised him land and descendants, Abram fled to Egypt without seeking God, and lied about Sarah being his sister—actions driven by fear rather than faith.
Brother Ezekiel highlighted how believers today often face similar tests, tempted to rely on human logic when God's promises feel distant. Abram’s choices endangered his wife and compromised his witness, showing the dangers of acting without prayer or trust in God’s sovereignty.
Despite Abram’s failure, God remained faithful. He protected Sarah, exposed Abram’s deceit, and brought him back to Canaan. The message closed with a reminder that our hope lies not in the strength of our faith, but in the unwavering faithfulness of God.
