What does it mean to be an ordinary disciple? Also Clare and Martin nearly have a falling out!

So much is made of the 12 disciples, what about the hundreds of other people who heard Jesus' message but went back to their ordinary life? Do we have more in common with the ordinary disciples rather than the ones who walked on water and spent all their time with Jesus?
