The signs of a breakthrough in the Brexit negotiations before the end of the year are not looking good. That’s according to the Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuinness. Her comments follow yesterday’s round of Brexit debates in the House of Commons where Theresa May faced opposition to her efforts to fix a date for Brexit in March 2019. Mairead McGuinness says the hopes of reaching a deal by the end of the year on the first phase of negotiations on Northern Ireland, the final bill and citizens’ rights are fading.
