Morning Report 29 Jul 21: US sharemarkets were mixed on Wednesday

Investors digested earnings results and the Federal Reserve monetary policy decision. Shares of Google parent, Alphabet Inc, rose 3.2% to an all-time high as a surge in advertising spending helped it post record quarterly results. The Dow Jones index fell by 128 points or 0.4%. The S&P 500 index fell by less than 0.1%. But the Nasdaq index lifted by 102 points or 0.7%.
