There are many dangers – here are some of the major ones.

1. It is an arousal addiction. Drug addicts want more… but porn addicts want MORE different, MORE harder, MORE grittier and MORE violent, and then they want even more and it never stops. It is a monster that is veracious. 
2. It rewires the brain in unhealthy ways. Seeing people as objects is just one of the major dangers. 
3. It creates dissatisfaction in not only your spouse, but in any partner. No one can live up to a porn image, video or experience.
4. It causes impotency. Ever wonder why drugs like Cialis, Viagra and others have become so popular? Porn will leave you limp in bed. 
5. Social media and that includes porn is the leading cause of divorce, marital dissatisfaction and adultery.
6. It is changing the sexual identity of our youth, creating the greatest distortions of our sexual attitudes and social realities in the shortest amount of time. There has been a skyrocketing percentage of young girls in emergency rooms due to anal sex from a boyfriend who watched porn and forced this on his girlfriend. 
7. A close relation between porn use and feelings of loneliness, depression and low self esteem. 
8. And #8 The greater the exposure to porn the greater ones self esteem drops and affects ones ability to enjoy the comfort and company of the opposite sex. 
9. It’s harder to quit than crystal meth or crack.
10. 10.Let’s not forget that the estimated lost wages for employers is almost a staggering 17 billion.

 

 

 

 

2 Cor. 10:3-7

3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

7 You are judging by appearances. If anyone is confident that they belong to Christ, they should consider again that we belong to Christ just as much as they do.

Marriage doesn’t cure porn addiction any more than it cures drug addiction.

 

Easiest to fall when:

Overly tired

Overly confident

Over the line- what you expose yourself to (instagram, the beach, bar, gym) 

 

  -  1 Repent

  -  2 Remove triggers

  -  3 Counseling 

  -  4 Accountability with others and technology

  -  5 Sex with your spouse  

 

 

*Don’t gear up to fight what you can eliminate: Don’t try to fight the images on your phone… just eliminate it.
