Market Close 2 Jan 20: Positive start to 2020 for Aussie shares

It was a better start to the new year and decade with the ASX 200 lifting 6.5pts or 0.1% to kick-off 2020. Trading volume was light as communications and consumer discretionary were the standout sectors while financials, healthcare and industrials lost ground.
