It's been a minute...and a HALF! Rainbow Nation podcast took some time off since Fall 2023 but we are back in time for Pride 2025!
Christine & Russel got the chance to interview "Inport Vinyl" crew, the entertainment team synonymous with a "Vinyl Night" at the Wheelhouse Brewing Company in Prince Rupert, located at 380 Bill Murray Drive, Prince Rupert, B.C. in the historic heritage building that used to be the CN train station building on the waterfront.
It's the third Pride event in the building, but Pride events are not uncommon in the Wheelhouse, from their original smaller location to the renovated expansive 2 floor establishment. The Wheelhouse has made it very clear that their establishment is a safe space for 2SLGBTQIA+ most especially with Pride Nights with Inport Vinyl.
Inport Vinyl is : Jamison Prystay, Timothy Younghusband & Craig Outhet, three friends that had a kooky idea to play vinyl records at the Wheelhouse (primarily) and it has grown significantly from there. They have found some success in turning their vinyl hobbies into a community staple entertainment event.
Three staunch allies have been supportive to Prince Rupert's attempts at creating Pride nights and this interview is a peak behind the turntables to see what has inspired their vinyl collecting and playing to creating a niche event for Prince Rupert.
Have a listen and a laugh as Rainbow Nation dusts off their interviewing skills.
Happy Pride !
