Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time: "What Are You Worried About?"
We all worry and those concerns often lead us not only to doubt God's faithfulness but also can lead us to sacrifice correctness for convenience in order to avoid unwanted pain and suffering. All human life is sacred and a gift from God. When we begin allowing for exceptions, such as whether life is planned, innocent, healthy, etc. we compromise our very human dignity. The push for physician-assisted suicide is the latest in episodes in human history to allow for exceptions to this very basic principle.
