Mary’s Song // Re-defining Self-Worth & Significance, Luke 1:39-56

The grace God provides is not based upon social standing, personal merit, or any other achievement deemed worthy or important by human society. It re-defines our self-worth and personal significance. A peasant girl (Mary) rather than a temple priest’s wife (Elizabeth) was bestowed the Messianic blessing and entrusted with the motherhood of God’s Son; as such, God’s grace “looked with favor on the lowliness of His servant” and “has done great things for me” (vv. 48a–49a). So too will God look upon all of us in the same way.

Mary's song pulls our hearts to a new realm and new way of following Jesus in:
