Theranos promised to revolutionize healthcare with a charismatic founder, a boardroom of political titans, and billions in funding. At 22, fresh out of Stanford, Tyler Shultz joined the “Apple of healthcare” as a research engineer—only to discover its groundbreaking blood-testing technology was built on lies. Behind glossy magazine covers and Silicon Valley hype, data was falsified, results fabricated, and dissent silenced. As co-founder of two diagnostics ventures—Flux Biosciences, a Stanford spinout reimagining lab-on-a-chip technology, and The Healthyr Company, a direct-to-consumer blood-testing service—he’s delivering the real healthcare revolution: accurate, accessible tools that empower patients.
