Representative Bradley Fritts’ legislation dealing with the Dixon Park District is expected to be called for a vote in committee next week. The legislation is currently in the House Energy and Environment Committee, where the Dixon Republican is receiving bi-partisan support for House Bill 2963.
Years ago, the Dixon Park District and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources made a deal regarding a plot of land in Dixon. DNR would give the park district the land, contingent on the fact that the land could not be developed. Now, elected officials and residents of the area have come up with a purpose for the property but are restricted from doing so by the old agreement. So the freshman legislator has come up with legislation to help out.
