Can we ”moderate” savages?

British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab thinks "we" need to work to "moderate" the Taliban and ensure they respect human rights. As he was saying this, the Taliban were hanging people by the throat from a US Helicopter and cutting the tongues off those who translated for the Afghan army.
