Understanding Emotional Intelligence requires us to distinguish between our thoughts and our feelings. Feelings are immediate, instinctive responses to situations, while thoughts are the interpretations and narratives we create about those feelings.
For example, feeling frustrated when a project doesn’t go as planned is natural. However, your thoughts about that frustration will determine your next action. You might think, "I’m terrible at this," which can lead to discouragement, or you might think, "This is a challenge I can learn from," which fosters resilience.
