In today's podcast comes Natalie Lue honours her grandmother who sounds like she was a powerhouse. Pinchy Lue came to the UK in the Windrush era and quickly used her tenacity to create safe communities for black people facing the hostility of the British public and systems.
Natalie refers to her grandmother taking up space and doing work that was required to do so. Natalie notes that her grandmother's hard work and the demands of being a mother meant that she did not have much time to herself before she passed away suddenly in her 70's. For Natalie this was a message for her to make sure she takes care of herself whilst she is alive, fit and well to reap the benefits.
