Market Close 25 May 18: Local shares end the week lower weighed by resource stocks

The Aussie market has fallen to its sixth loss in the past seven sessions with the ASX 200 dipping by 4 points or 0.1%. Material and energy stocks were the main weight although gold miners performed well in a flight to safety. Wesfarmers gained0.9% after it agreed to sell its struggling UK hardware business.
