Market Close 12 June 19: ASX 200 remains around 111/2 year high - gives up early gains to end flat

The ASX 200 jumped more than 40 points within the first hour of trade and hit session highs. As the day went on, the early gains were trimmed and the index ended the day 2.6 points lower. Materials were the main catalyst for the broad improvements. The big four banks all closed weaker with the ANZ Bank and Commonwealth Bank (CBA) suffering the heaviest losses of 1.3%.
