European Parliament Brexit resolution “strong” on Ireland – Carthy

The Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy says a European Parliament resolution on Brexit is a positive document that takes a strong position on Ireland. MEPs today endorsed the draft resolution that sets out the European Parliament’s position on a possible framework for future EU-UK relations post Brexit. Today’s vote followed a fiery debate on Brexit in the Parliament yesterday. During the debate the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said the Good Friday Agreement would have to be preserved in all of its parts. Matt Carthy says the Parliament’s resolution on Brexit reflects that thinking on Ireland.
