Bryan D. LeBlanc, 50, of Sayles Street formerly of Milford and Mendon, highly decorated Army Veteran, died Friday, Jan 17, at Brookside Rehab in Webster. He leaves his 2 sons Nick Rosen of Brockton, and Brandon LeBlanc of Texas, his father Charles LeBlanc of San Antonio, TX. a brother Christopher Michael LeBlanc of the Philippines, and a sister Jeannine Verburt of Universal, Texas.
Born in Boston he was the son of Charles LeBlanc and the late Ruth (Johnston) LeBlanc and lived in Texas and several others states where his Army career took him. Bryan was a highly decorated Army retired Veteran. He retired as an Army Ranger after 20 years of service. His service career took him into many dangerous zones including The Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia in 1993. He served in Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and peacekeeping missions in Egypt and Africa. After his retirement he taught science to high risk students in Texas. He coached Little League Baseball and worked security at Six Flags in Texas. He was an avid fisherman, and a Patriots and Bruins fan. Moving back to Massachusetts, he was a dispatcher for the Massachusetts State Police.
His activities ended after battling a series of 4 major strokes. With determination and will power he fought back to recover from of his ailing health and became the coordinator of Nick’s House in Southbridge, a place for veterans transitioning from life struggles. He ran the house with determination and courage. He could be seen walking his Great Dane “TUUKKA” throughout Southbridge. He was friend to all who knew him even though he struggled to communicate and would get frustrated with himself. His funeral service will be held at 6PM, Wednesday, Jan. 22, in the Central Baptist Church, Southbridge. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
