In this episode, Emily Foster, last year’s Symposium/Convention Student Scholarship recipient, and Guy Orchard, last year’s Leica Leadership in Management Scholarship recipient, discuss Guy’s progression through the ranks of UK biomedical science throughout his 30-year career. Guy shares how he started, as a fresh-faced teen with very little confidence (his words!), but soon grew to manage several laboratory departments, publish over 80 publications, and pursue his PhD. Guy is using his scholarship to fund continuing education for the biomedical scientists enrolled in his hospital’s Future Leaders Program. Check out NSH’s scholarship opportunities to advance your career or support a noteworthy outreach project.
