CETA Investor-State dispute mechanism ‘fair’ – McGuinness

The Fine Gael MEP Mairead McGuiness says she supports the inclusion of a controversial aspect of the EU-Canada trade deal which provides investors with a mechanism to sue states if they’re unhappy with certain laws. Critics of the Investment Court System say it gives too much power to multinationals. However Ms McGuinness argues investors need certain protections when doing deals in different countries.
