In May of 2001, Triple H tore his quad muscle clear off the bone during a tag-team match. He spent the rest of the year down in Alabama, rehabbing and getting stronger. When he finally returned on Monday Night Raw in Madison Square Garden in January of 2002, he got a god-like reception! However, he completely missed out on the entire Invasion storyline.
