Market Close 27 August 19: Shares rebound on easing trade tensions

The local Aussie sharemarket has rebounded from Monday’s sell-off as US-China trade tensions eased overnight. The ASX 200 lifted 31pts or 0.5% to 6471 with the tech sector outperforming and supported by gains for major banks and miners. Wesfarmers (WES) rose on a 360% jump to its net profit of $5.5 billion.
