In 2008, she embarked on a life-saving adventure as she became no longer able to will her way through the mental anguish of CPTSD- a condition she developed due to suffering child abuse from the age of 5-7 and then Munchausen's Abuse from 16-18 years of age. In addition to the violence and chaos, losing her father (the only sense of protection she had) to brain cancer when she was 16, prompted the ultimate death of her spirit and sense of Self before graduating high school.
As a young adult in her early twenties, she struggled to have boundaries with others because her self esteem was crushed- the trauma she had built her life upon controlled her every move and was taking medications and consulting doctors for mental health management. Ashley's long suffering associated with CPTSD lead to suicide attempts, eating disorders and bouts of dissociation making it impossible to enjoy her life.
Until in 2008, when she donated a kidney, Ashley had the tangible experience of saving someone's life and got in touch with her body's inherent healing potential. She finally accepted that she had the desire and the means to save her own life too.
She set out to pursue her own healing naturally. She discovered the power of connecting to the inner child through meditation, journaling and artwork and adopted a Plant Based diet thinking this would bring peace to her life. However, on the Plant Based diet, she suffered dental issues, became prediabetic, developed SIBO and consumed her time with an obsession with "clean foods".
Since leaving the Plant-Based dogma, her issues with Anxiety, Depression, Disordered Eating, IBS, CPTSD relapses, and Acne (as well as those dental issues) have disappeared, as are all medications she was prescribed for these issues. She wants to help others experience their True Self by nourishing themselves the way nature intended and to not feel alone doing it.
